Air Quality Warning - July 15, 2026

YMCA Hamilton | Burlington | Brantford is monitoring current air quality conditions across our region and following Environment Canada guidance. Current conditions are in the Very High Risk category.

The health and safety of our participants, children, campers, members and staff remains our top priority.

Programs and services that operate outdoors may adjust activities or programming to reduce outdoor exposure and limit strenuous physical activity.

Child Care Centres are operating as usual, with programming adjusted as needed to keep children indoors and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities while air quality conditions remain elevated.

YMCA Camp Chippewa at Christie Lake remains open with modified programming. Camp staff have reduced strenuous outdoor activities and are adapting programs to support camper well-being. As an outdoor camp, the team continues to assess conditions and potential impacts on tomorrow's operations. Families will be contacted directly should further program modifications become necessary.

We will continue to assess conditions and provide updates if broader operational changes are required.
