Two local Home Depot Stores raise over $30K for YMCA youth programs through Orange Door Project Campaign
The YMCA of Hamilton | Burlington | Brantford is celebrating another impactful year of partnership with The Home Depot Canada's Orange Door Project Campaign, an initiative that continues to make a meaningful difference for young people in our community.
For the second year in a row, two local Home Depot stores—the Hamilton location at 350 Centennial Parkway North and the Ancaster location at 122 Martindale Crescent—selected the YMCA as their charity partner for both the Spring and Winter campaigns. Their ongoing commitment helped raise essential funds for the YMCA’s Youth in Transition Worker (YITW) program, which supports young people aged 16–24 who need support and help to find and keep housing.
The Spring campaign, which ran from May 27 to June 22, rallied store associates, customers, and community members to support youth who are working toward independence—whether it’s securing stable housing, building life skills, accessing healthcare, or planning for school or work.
Spring 2025 Total Raised: $15,132
The Winter campaign continued that momentum, reminding the community that the need for youth-focused housing and support doesn’t pause when the seasons change.
Winter 2025 Total Raised: $17,819
Together, the two campaigns raised an impressive: $32,952.
These funds go directly toward strengthening the YITW program, which currently supports more than 250 youth each year. With additional funding, even more young people can be connected to the stability, mentorship, and resources they need to build bright, confident futures.
Since 2014, The Home Depot Canada Foundation has invested in programs that address youth homelessness, a crisis affecting 1 in 5 people experiencing homelessness in Canada. Through the Orange Door Project, each Home Depot store selects a local charity whose work aligns with this mission.
As we look to the year ahead, we’re deeply grateful for this continued partnership and the meaningful impact it has on young people in Hamilton, Burlington, and Brantford.
Thank you to everyone at Home Depot, and to every community member who opened their hearts to make this year’s campaigns a success.
