YMCA Canada has partnered with the Orange Shirt Society to sell orange shirts in support of the Orange Shirt Society.
Orange Shirt Day / National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is recognized on September 30th. Wearing orange shows your support for survivors and your commitment to learning the truth about residential schools and their lasting impacts.
Over the last two years, YMCAs across Canada have raised nearly $100,000 for the Orange Shirt Society and hope you will support the campaign again this year!
Each shirt will be sold for $17.70 plus applicable taxes. $10 from each shirt will be donated to the Orange Shirt Society.

2023 Design
This year YMCA Canada is honoured to have special permission from the Orange Shirt Society to use their official 2023 design, crafted by Grade 10 student Charliss Santos from Alberta. The YMCA logo will be placed on a sleeve of the shirt.
YMCA Canada is pleased to work in cooperation with the Orange Shirt Society, the official organization behind Orange Shirt Day. Orange Shirt Day is an annual awareness-raising event founded by Phyllis Webstad that takes place on September 30, which now coincides with National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Orange Shirt Society is a non-profit organization with its home in Williams Lake, BC where Orange Shirt Day began in 2013. The purposes of the society are as follows:

To support Indian Residential School Reconciliation

To create awareness of the individual, family, and community inter-generational impacts of Indian Residential Schools through Orange Shirt Society activities

To create awareness of the concept of "Every Child Matters"
About Orders Through YMCA of Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford:
- Staff pre-orders are being accepted through the form below. There is no limit on the number of shirts you may purchase. We will be placing the final bulk order for the association through YMCA Canada to help with inventory management.
- Orders are planned to ship to associations in late summer. You will be notified with pick up and payment instructions once shirts are delivered to branches.
- Shirts are $17.70 plus applicable taxes.
