YMCA Summer Day Camps Featured on CHCH Morning Live

YMCA Summer Day Camps kicked off the summer season in the spotlight on June 29 as CHCH Morning Live broadcast live from YMCA Camp Chippewa at Christie Lake Conservation Area. The coverage offered viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the energy, excitement and community that make YMCA Summer Day Camps a summer tradition for children and families across Hamilton, Burlington and Brantford.

Throughout the morning, campers and staff showcased a range of activities that help make camp a fun and memorable experience, from waterfront adventures and outdoor games to leadership opportunities and skill development. The segments featured Shawn McKillop, Senior Vice-President, Communications & Digital Transformation; Shawna MacLellan, General Manager, Child Care and YMCA Summer Day Camps; A.J. Phillips, Day Camp Manager; and members of the Camp Chippewa team.

CHCH also included YMCA Summer Day Camps in its evening news coverage, which highlighted the start of camp season as Southwestern Ontario prepares for a heat wave. The story explored how camp staff are helping children stay safe and active while enjoying the summer outdoors.
