About YMCA Wanakita

For over 70 years...

For over 70 years, YMCA Wanakita has influenced young people to develop leadership skills and build independence and confidence through camping and outdoor education programs.

Generations of families have attended YMCA Wanakita. Many start as campers and eventually become staff and then family campers, bringing their own families. Programs encourage all participants to take on new challenges, develop leadership skills, make new friends, and appreciate the environment and outdoor life. What campers leave with are memories that last a lifetime, skills that influence their future, and an affinity for camp that is unparalleled to any other YMCA program.

The YMCA Wanakita Charter is a challenge that has been presented to campers of YMCA Wanakita's summer programs throughout it's history at the opening and closing campfire.

We who have been before, challenge you who are the present, to make new friends, renew old friendships, experience new skills, discover and appreciate nature and outdoor life, to participate fully in all activities that are offered to you, and to create memories that last a lifetime.

You are challenged to learn that YMCA Wanakita is not just the buildings, the land, and the lake, but the people. It is the people that become so much a part of us while we are here.

A full kilometer of continuous shoreline and sandy beach along Koshlong Lake
25 kilometers of secluded wooded trails for hiking, running, biking, snowshoeing and skiing

Accommodations

Comfortable, rustic cabins with camper bunk beds and private quarters for leaders

Meeting Facilities

We have small and large meeting spaces that can accommodate groups of all sizes.

Fenton Hall, Lakeview Lodge, The Drift Inn, The Core, Maple Leaf Foods Leadership Edge Hall.
