We’re proud to share that our innovative Cognitive Groove program — a partnership between YMCA Hamilton| Burlington|Brantford and the GERAS Centre for Aging Research — was recently featured in the Toronto Star and Hamilton Spectator.

Cognitive Groove (formerly GERAS Dance) is a music-and-movement-based program designed to support brain health, memory, and joyful aging. Developed in collaboration with GERAS researchers, the program blends functional exercises with cognitive stimulation in a fun, social environment, helping older adults stay active, connected, and thriving.

The Toronto Star and Hamilton Spectator story by Joanna Frketich, highlights Cognitive Groove and the importance of community-based programs that promote healthy aging. It’s a testament to what’s possible when research and recreation come together to support older adults in meaningful ways.
