CH Morning Live host Emily Vukovic visited our Flamborough Family YMCA on January 5, with the feature airing January 6. The visit offered viewers a look at how YMCA Hamilton | Burlington | Brantford supports wellbeing across Health, Fitness & Aquatics. Hosted by Emily Vukovic.

LiveWell: Healthy aging—evidence and community‑based

CH Morning Live highlighted Cognitive Groove (formerly GERAS Dance) and Walk Fit, programs designed to improve brain health, mobility, stability, and to reduce joint strain—especially valuable for older adults and those with mobility concerns.

LiveWell programs are delivered in partnership with Hamilton Health Sciences and affiliated with McMaster University, offering rehabilitation, prevention, and education for a variety of conditions.
Many LiveWell offerings are included in YMCA membership; select programs are available to non‑members. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Child & Youth programs: Convenience + value for families

Our Child & Youth membership provides swim lessons for the whole family, unlimited open swims, and access to a wide range of sports, arts, and leadership programs—designed to build skills, confidence, and connection.

Families can choose CORE or MORE membership types for priority registration and program discounts, or register individual programs (note: swim lessons are members‑only). Financial assistance is available for eligible families.
Programs run in 11‑week sessions, from basketball and floor hockey to creative and strength‑building classes, plus specialty offerings like Y Climb and Karate.

Group Fitness: ViPR functional training (new for 2026)

New this year, ViPR (Vitality, Performance & Reconditioning) will be available across all YMCA branches—functional, movement‑based training that combines strength and mobility, engaging multiple muscle groups and the core. It’s adaptable to every level.

Your YMCA membership includes unlimited group fitness classes like Spin, Aquafit, TRX, Pilates, Yoga, and Zumba, making it easier to stay motivated and add variety to your routine.

Aquatics: Rolling registration + lots of pool time

YMCA membership includes swim lessons for children and youth with rolling registration—keep your day/time between sessions without re‑registering or queues. Family‑friendly scheduling with lots of open/lane swim time.

Across branches there are 50+ hours of open and lane swims weekly (schedules vary by location), and classes like aquafit and hydrotherapy for fitness and rehabilitation.

We offer lessons for all ages and advanced aquatics certifications for those pursuing lifeguarding.
