Turkstra Lumber’s Charity BBQs Raise $1,725 for YMCA Programs

Nothing says summer like a great barbeque—and this year, Turkstra Lumber Hamilton turned up the heat for a great cause.

For the second year in a row, the YMCA of Hamilton | Burlington | Brantford was honoured to be the beneficiary of four Friday charity BBQs at Turkstra Lumber Hamilton. With Angus burgers, footlong hotdogs, cold drinks, and plenty of sunshine, the community came together to enjoy good food while supporting an important cause.

Thanks to the generosity of customers, and the hard work of YMCA volunteers and staff behind the grill, a total of $1,725 was raised in support of YMCA programs across our communities.

“We had fun, enjoyed the sun, and raised vital funds that will help more people access YMCA programs that support health, belonging, and community,” said Akinyemi Adetunji, Senior Development Officer with the YMCA.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Turkstra Lumber for welcoming us back again this summer, to everyone who stopped by for a bite, and to the YMCA staff and volunteers who made these events possible. Together, we’re helping strengthen our community—one burger at a time!
