The Long Walk Home 2026
The YMCA Long Walk Home returns in 2026 to raise awareness and funds for men experiencing housing instability, homelessness, and social isolation in our community.
Our walkers will be walking a 75 km journey in just 2 days, while aiming to raise $40,000 in financial support for the men who are receiving support in the YMCA Residence.
How the Long Walk Home got started..
The Long Walk Home began in 2024 with the vision of Kelly Frapporti, who recognized the need to raise awareness and community support for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
What started as Kelly's idea has grown into a meaningful YMCA tradition that brings together participants, sponsors, and community partners to support the YMCA Men's Residence.
Kelly is the 2026 Walk Ambassador. Although she is not walking this year, she will continue to champion the event as a volunteer and fundraiser, raising awareness about the importance of safe, affordable housing, community connection, and ensuring everyone can find a place to call home.
Over the past year, the YMCA Men's Residence has supported more than 200 individuals by providing safe housing, case management, harm reduction services, and other vital supports.
