With the launch of two new youth co-ed sports leagues, YMCA Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford is creating more opportunities for youth to improve their quality of health and feel a sense of belonging.

Registration opened Monday, June 8 for both the eight-week basketball league at the Les Chater Family YMCA and the eight-week volleyball league at the Flamborough Family YMCA.

These eight-week leagues are open to both members of the YMCA and non-members ages 12-14.

Youth sign up for the leagues as individuals and will be placed on teams to make the league as fun and equitable as possible.

Each participant will receive a performance t-shirt and get the chance to win medals and YMCA swag. The first two-weeks of the leagues involve scrimmages and practices. Then, the teams will play games over four weeks. The leagues conclude with two weeks of playoffs.

The new youth sport leagues offer a great opportunity for youth to continue to participate in sporting activities in a safe and welcoming environment and are offered in addition to a wide-range of Child and Youth programs and a variety of sports and recreation options for adults

The leagues also coincide with a $78 two-month youth membership promotion available to 13-24-year-olds.
