Meet Saba.She was born and raised in Denmark and until eight years ago, she was studying to become a nurse. That’s when she got married—and moved to Canada.

Hamilton, Ontario - September 16, 2024 - A new survey commissioned by YMCA Canada, conducted among Angus Reid Forum members, reveals that a staggering 60% of Canadians feel disconnected from their community, with 16% reporting they never feel a sense of community and 44% experiencing it only sometimes.

Armando and Jim are both long-standing Hamiltonians, but they might not have met – and forged a lasting, supportive friendship – if it weren’t for the Y.  

Meet K.Like many 18–30-year-olds, K worries about their future... a lot.  So, when they heard about Y Mind through another community organization, they filled out the form on the website and were soon contacted by the Y Mind team.

On Monday, July 22, just before 12:30 in the afternoon, a fire broke out on the third floor of the Men’s Residence at the Hamilton Downtown Family YMCA.
