The YMCA is pleased to provide an Advanced Aquatics Leadership Bursary to support young leaders as they progress through advanced aquatic certifications, from Bronze Medallion to National Lifeguard.

What is the bursary?

Youth ages 13+ have the opportunity to gain lifesaving skills and complete the qualifications to become employed as a YMCA swim instructor and lifeguard at no cost to the participant.

Who can apply?

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone ages 13 years and older, with a specific commitment to remove any barriers to participation and support equity deserving groups. Current YMCA staff may also apply for a bursary in support of recertification to maintain National Lifeguard standards.

These bursaries are made possible through the generosity and commitment of donors and funders to the YMCA.
