The 2024 YMCA Peace Medals will be presented at the 37th Annual YMCA Peace Medal Breakfast on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen's. 
Nomination Categories
  • Youth Awards (ages 25 and under)
  • Adult Awards (ages 26 and up)
  • International Awards

Deadline for nominations Friday, October 25, 2024. 

Late and/or incomplete submissions will not be accepted. Nominees' are kept on file for a total of three years.

YMCA Peace Medal

The YMCA Peace Medal is presented to individuals or groups who, without any special resources, status, wealth or position, demonstrate a commitment to the values of P-E-A-C-E through contributions made within their local, national or global community.

  • The actions of the nominee have demonstrated their commitment to the advancement of peace or the promotion of non-violence within the family, the community, our nation or internationally.
  • The nominee has developed, on their own or with others, a program or activity that contributes to a safe/non-violent community and promotes social justice and community cohesion.
  • The actions of the nominee as a 'peacemaker' will have motivated the local community.
  • The actions of the nominee will have demonstrated ways to live and promote peace and harmony in an increasingly diverse society.

For International Award nominees only - Activities must primarily benefit people living in other countries, outside Canada.

Please note, it is imperative that a nomination reflect compliance in all outlined criteria in order to be considered for a YMCA Peace Medal Award. All qualifying nominees will be contacted by the YMCA.
