The YMCA Wanakita Staff Scholarship is offered annually to provide one or more YMCA Wanakita summer leadership staff support to pursue post-secondary education.
In 2024, an amount up to $1,000 is available.
Application Process
Applicants are asked to complete the application form along with 2 letters in support of their application. Applicants must be planning to enroll in educational programs within the next 12 months. Confirmation of registration will be required before the award is provided.
Please note that the application form includes a request for financial information. If your family's financial resources, or your own, are a significant barrier for you to pursue continued education, please make reference to this in your cover letter.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be reviewed by the Education Awards Committee (YMCA Wanakita Senior Vice President, General Manager, Alumni Officer, YMCA Wanakita Supervisors) in the following areas:
- Career Plans
- Past contributions to the YMCA and community
- Involvement with YMCA Wanakita as a camper, in the leadership program and as staff
- Financial Need
All nominations must be submitted online.
