Are you ready for a YMCA Wanakita adventure?

In the Haliburton Highlands on the crystal clear waters of Koshlong Lake, teams of competitors will challenge their physical and natural surroundings in the YMCA Wanakita Team Challenge fundraising event.

 

September 22 - 24, 2023

This Fall, teams of 6 will gather for a series of outdoor challenges focused on team building, making memories, and supporting the future of YMCA Wanakita—all while having the time of your life.

Every dollar you raise sustains Wanakita as one of the best overnight camps in developing children and building leaders. Through a best-in-class leadership program, Wanakita is where youth discover themselves and where leaders are made.

Your Questions Answered

While you are strongly encouraged to raise $500 or more before September 22nd, we understand that fundraising may take time, so you will have until October 24, 2023 (30 days after the event) to reach your fundraising goal.  

While we love giving children an unforgettable camp experience, this is an 18+ event, so children will not be able to attend.

Registration includes your accommodations, meals, snacks, Team Challenge T-shirt, and a drawstring bag with fun surprises. It also includes access to your very own peer-to-peer fundraising page to make your fundraising simple and fun.

The event is taking place at YMCA Wanakita, located on 1,000 pine-scented acres on Koshlong Lake in Haliburton, Ontario.

You will be staying in the duplex cabins on the west side of camp! These cabins are one large shared space, equipped with washroom (toilet, shower, and two sinks). There is running water, electricity, and heat.

You can bunk with your team, or you can choose to be in the all-male, all-female, or gender-neutral cabin. 

We also have 6 single rooms available in the Health Centre and 5 single rooms available in the Bayer Den.

Of course! When you register, you will be asked if you have any specific requests for who you would like to bunk with. Be sure to let us know who you'd like to share a cabin with and we will do our best to make it happen.

Yes! The challenges are set up so that everyone will have an opportunity to participate and show their strengths. Some challenges only require one person, while others require a few members or the whole team—but the whole team will always be needed to cheer on your teammates! 

You can donate directly to our event or to a team or individual fundraiser on the peer-to-peer platform.

Nope! If we have more people, we will make more teams! The more the merrier...and the more competitive.

You can sign up by joining as a Team and adding your members on the peer-to-peer fundraising site. Remember, the registration cost is $450 per person, with an individual fundraising goal of $500 or more.

If you choose to bring alcoholic beverages, we ask that you enjoy them with discretion to ensure the safety and comfort of all members of the camp community. For everyone's safety, please do not consume alcohol before participating in, or during any program.
