YMCA of Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford continues to monitor and comply with all directives from our provincial and local public health authorities across the regions that we serve. 

All members, volunteers and staff will be asked to complete a COVID-19 health screening prior to entering the facility. Please show the 'Safe to Enter' message on your mobile device to YMCA staff upon entering the facility.

Hours of Operation have been modified. We will continue to monitor and assess and make modifications as necessary.

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday - Friday: 6am - 8pm
  • Saturday-Sunday: 8am - 2pm
There will be a 30 minute shut down mid-day for staff to perform a thorough cleaning.

Towels are available to Adult Only Members at the Membership Desk.

The YMCA will not be providing other borrowed equipment at this time. Please bring a water bottle, towel and yoga mat (if required) with you for your workout.

Members who paid their membership in full for the year will receive an extension to their membership for the time in which facilities were closed. 

All of our schedules are posted on our website under the 'Schedules' tab.

As a courtesy to all members, we ask you to attend your Group Fitness class at the registered time. Upon arrival, please allocate an extra 10-15 minutes to allow for check-in and health screening. If circumstances have changed and you are unable to attend your pre-booked class, please phone or email the branch directly and we will cancel the booking.

No. Following Public Health Guidelines visors are a recommended alternative to goggles however not for a mask.

Filtration systems are part of an overall risk mitigation approach that includes other measures such as limiting capacity, increased sanitation, social distancing, wearing masks and hand washing.  

We have worked with our HVAC contractor to maximize the amount of fresh air into each space and this is reviewed regularly. This is a balancing act to ensure that the room temperatures are maintained with the amount of fresh air coming in during seasonal weather changes. We have replaced all filters in the HVAC systems with minimum MERV 8-11 filters. We are exploring UV filtration system within the HVAC systems.

Other protocols we have put in place to protect our members and staff include:

  • Health screening upon entering
  • Booking workouts in advance to ensure we do not go over capacity for physical distancing
  • Mask wearing for all staff and for members, including while taking part in physical activity
  • Additional hand sanitizer throughout our buildings
  • Providing individual disfectant bottles and disposable wipes for members to clean their equipment before and after use
  • Plexiglass barriers at membership desks
  • Sanitation of all change rooms and fitness equipment hourly and in between each workout block with two deep cleans per day, including electrostatic sprayers for disinfection
  • Increasing space between equipment and moving group fitness classes to larger spaces with high ceilings
