• Since 1974, YMCA Wanakita has served over 100,000 primary, middle, secondary, college and university students.
• Through a variety of program streams, currirculum requirements and educational outcomes are successfully achieved.
• 16 Boards of Education; a variety of public, separate and private schools and 10 universities/colleges have utilized the wide range of resources
• YMCA Wanakita staff meet with students, teachers and parents as required to help design programs and guide the process before and after the experience.

Participant Goals

• Develop self-reliance and responsibility towards realizing leadership potential; expand ones personal resources, placing a high value on having a positive attitude.
• To be socially cooperative by relating positively to others; understanding interdependence and friendships; group building and cooperative living.
• To develop a positive attitude towards health, fitness and life-long learning and the importance of active lifestyles and learning new skills that carry forward through life.
• To be motivated by principle, developing values that guide life such as respect, trust, peace, fun, honesty, caring, equality and an appreciation of the diversity of people.
• To understand the workings of the natural world and our place in it.

2012 Rates

Wanakita's group rates are offered in 24 hour billing periods. Prices are all inclusive: meals, equipment, instruction, lodging.

 

Youth Group Participants* (Winter, Spring or Fall - West)

2 days / 1 night (24 hour period)....... (With washroom)	$69.00 + HST
3 days / 2 nights (48 hour period)..... (With washroom)	$138.00 + HST
4 days / 3 nights (72 hour period) (With washroom)	$207.00 + HST
5 days / 4 nights (96 hour period) (With washroom)	$276.00 + HST

 

Youth Group Participants* (Spring or Fall - East)

2 days / 1 night (24 hour period)....... (cabin)	$64.00 + HST
3 days / 2 nights (48 hour period)..... (cabin)	$128.00 + HST
4 days / 3 nights (72 hour period) (cabin)	$192.00 + HST
5 days / 4 nights (96 hour period) (cabin)	$256.00 + HST

 

*Teachers/school group chaperones are welcome at no cost up to a 1:10 ratio. Additional teachers/chaperones are welcome at the full rate.

Weekend Group Rate** (Winter, Spring or Fall)

Arrive Friday evening and depart after lunch on Sunday.

Half Day (3 hours or less)................	$13.00 + HST

**Group Leaders - 50% off the full participant rate

Meals are served buffet or family style. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners range from $6.00 to $11.00 per person depending on selection. Snacks range from $2.00 to $5.00 (taxes not included) per person depending on selection. For special events (i.e. conferences, dinner/dances) meal prices could be higher depending on selection.
