  • Since 1974, YMCA Wanakita has served over 100,000 primary, middle, secondary, college and university students.
  • Through a variety of program streams, currirculum requirements and educational outcomes are successfully achieved.
  • 16 Boards of Education; a variety of public, separate and private schools and 10 universities/colleges have utilized the wide range of resources
  • YMCA Wanakita staff meet with students, teachers and parents as required to help design programs and guide the process before and after the experience.

Participant Goals

  • Develop self-reliance and responsibility towards realizing leadership potential; expand ones personal resources, placing a high value on having a positive attitude.
  • To be socially cooperative by relating positively to others; understanding interdependence and friendships; group building and cooperative living.
  • To develop a positive attitude towards health, fitness and life-long learning and the importance of active lifestyles and learning new skills that carry forward through life.
  • To be motivated by principle, developing values that guide life such as respect, trust, peace, fun, honesty, caring, equality and an appreciation of the diversity of people.
  • To understand the workings of the natural world and our place in it.

Rates

Wanakita's group rates are offered in 24 hour billing periods. Prices are all inclusive: meals, equipment, instruction, lodging. Rates include GST and PST.

*Group Leaders - Half price of the participant fee based on whether your group is on West or East.

Meals are served buffet or family style. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners range from $4.50 to $10.00 per person depending on selection. Snacks range from $2.00 to $5.00 (all taxes included) per person depending on selection. For special events (i.e. conferences, dinner/dances) meal prices could be higher depending on selection.
