Did you know that only 7% of youth and 15% of adults in Canada meet daily physical activity requirements? That's why the YMCA holds Healthy Kids Day each year - a healthy living community fair to help kids and families embrace healthy habits and make them lifelong practice. Plus it's free! Through fun, engaging and sometimes wacky activities, families get the chance to spend time together and learn to love active living. This year's event is on Sunday, June 3rd and is expected to bring together over 10,000 people across the region. Check out what's happening at your YMCA:

Hiroshima Peace Lantern Ceremony
Every year on August 6th, people gather by the riverside in the Hiroshima Peace Park, Japan, and float their homemade lanterns past the Atomic Bomb Dome in the spirit of peace and solidarity. You're invited to take part by creating your own peace lantern which we will send to the Hiroshima YMCA. Find out more.
Visiting Zambia
The YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford along with the YMCA of Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo and YMCA of Stratford, share an international partnership with the YMCA of Zambia, focused on supporting HIV/AIDS education programs. Staff from our three YMCAs are currently on a monitoring visit. Read about their daily experiences or have a look at their photo album.
