I saw Genevieve on CHCH News this morning. I thought the show and information on diabetes was very helpful and informative.
As you already know I am a diabetic. While I was at the doctors with my son I mentioned that my sugar has been low for a long time. He could see how much weight I have lost and he automatically said I don't need to take insulin anymore.
I am so happy I don't have to take it anymore. It made my day for sure. It just makes all that work worth it and also makes me want to keep going so I can come off the rest of my medications.
See you at the gym. I will be there too. Take care and have a good day!

I have already booked several workouts with Jon, up to January 3rd and I have been going to women and weights on Tuesday mornings with Eileen. As for the nutrition part, I am cooking Christmas dinner for 20 people this year. My plan is too make it as healthy as I can for everyone with out changing our traditional Christmas dinner too much. I know where I can cut some fat out and I am going to make a veggie platter and put it out instead of junk food. I am also going to make some hermit cookies for the kids - my two boys love them. The recipe is in the cookbook you gave us.
I don't see any barriers in keeping my goals. I enjoy going to the YMCA. I go at least three times a week. I have reached my first goal and I am finding it easier to do the exercises and am getting used to the routine of getting more phyically fit. I'm seeing so many changes in my body, I keep asking myself "is this really me", lol.
After Christmas my plan is to go even more often. I love the atmosphere when I walk in the doors to go for a workout. The staff all smile at me and say the nicest things to me, Like "your doing a great job" "keep up the good work". Even other YMCA members greet me in the same manner with a smile and say the same things. The staff is always encouraging and helpful at all times. I would like to say thank you to you, Jon, Eileen, Pat, Suzanne and all of the YMCA staff for the support and inspiration. Merry Christmas to all of you!
Have a great day!

I have five workouts booked this week coming. I have only missed once since I started. I am loving the differences in my body - it is so easy to do things now. I dont feel uncomfortable at the YMCA at all. When I get there sometimes I don't want to leave. I have to almost run to make it to my bus because I only have one ticket for the day and I can go to the gym for an hour workout then return home on the same ticket because the tranfer lasts for 2 hours, lucky for that, sometimes, lol.
I feel so much better since I have been going to the YMCA. I knew there would be challenges for me but I am getting through them. I surprise myself at how much I can actually do.
I think once this year is over I am going to want to continue working out. I will find a way to renew my memebership for sure. Everyone tells me I am doing great. I have lost a total of 18 pounds since October 29th, not sure how many inches but I am down a size, maybe two.

I was in last tuesday and did an hour workout with John. It was great. I feel great after a workout. I find it gives me more energy too. I didn't just go home and sit around but instead I went for another walk that evening, suggested by my trainer of course, lol.
As for the goal setting, I wanted to speak with the dietitians about what to eat before a workout and what not to eat. I feel I need to spend more time on goal setting. So I guess my first goal is to eat a better breakfast before a workout.
I usually feel great after a workout and have more energy. I find the staff helpful and informative and encouraging.
I like the atmostphere at the YMCA. When I arrived at the gym on tuesday I went right down to the exercise room to get a headstart on my workout. When I looked for an open treadmill all but one was being used by people jogging and I had to go out there and walk. I just told myself not to think about everyone around me and just do it. I felt like I overcame something that has been stopping me from doing something like this. I didn't feel out of place at all. I am looking forward to coming to the gym more starting tomorrow.
